WOVEN is an independent London womenswear brand founded by textile designer Laura Miles, bringing together contemporary British design and the extraordinary skills of traditional Indian handloom weaving.

With almost 30 years’ experience as a woven textile designer, Laura has always believed that beautiful clothing begins with beautiful cloth. Each WOVEN collection is designed around the fabric, using handspun and handwoven organic cotton to create relaxed, timeless pieces that celebrate the subtle irregularities and character of cloth made by hand.

The journey began following a visit to Maheshwar in India in 2019, where Laura discovered WomenWeave, a charitable organisation supporting women through training and fairly paid employment in handloom weaving. Today, WOVEN works directly with WomenWeave and other artisan partners in India, including Karghewale and Kumbaya, a social enterprise where many of the garments are stitched.

Designed in Laura’s London studio, WOVEN’s blouses, skirts and accessories combine easy, wearable shapes with distinctive checks, stripes, textures and carefully considered colour. Collections are produced in small batches rather than large seasonal runs, creating clothing intended to be worn and loved for years.

At the heart of WOVEN is a desire to make fashion in a more thoughtful and transparent way,valuing the people who make our clothes, preserving traditional textile skills and celebrating the beauty of the handmade.
